EMC Interference:

If you are having problems, or learn about the issue, take a look at the guidance on the RSGB EMC website. Thanks to member Tim M0TWW for suggesting this way to deal with interference with home-made chokes and baluns. See GM3SEK’s articles here: Cost-effective chokes and baluns. Tim also recommends taking a look at G3TXQ’s Common-modes chokes page.

Planning Permission:

What’s the best way your amateur radio antenna doesn’t fall foul of  planning permission problems? TARG member Tim M0TWW found advice in the January 2013 issue of Radcom especially interesting as it mentioned the “Four Year Rule”. If you can prove that the antenna has been in place for four years, you may not need planning permission. There’s some helpful information here:  RSGB Planning Advisory Committee pages.
