November 2016

Christmas 2016What a busy month!

On 4th November we had the AGM which was in three parts:

  1. Thank the outgoing Committee for their contribution over the past 12 months.
  2. Elect eight Committee members for 2016-217 (see Committee page for who’s who)
  3. Facilitated Open Forum for members to give feedback and suggestions

We are lucky that new Committee members bring areas of expertise:

  • Nigel is updating the website, re-introducing a newsletter
  • Fred  is reviewing our Risk Assessments and Control measures
  • John, is an authorised PAT tester so will test and certify all the club equipment
  • Mark is to introduce our first Advanced Course
  • Huw, is developing Morse and TARGet Nite.

Del has taken over from Ann for Merchandise.

On 18th November we have had our first TARGet night of the Autumn which welcomed a new M6 licencee who had a go at Morse Code and operated using the club call sign.

On 25 November, we had our popular Christmas Meal at a local Carvery. Thirty people attended making it a packed and exciting opportunity to discuss all those matters that are unconnected with radio. A great social occasion.
